Earlier this past weekend, the Falcons signed five players to their practice squad. That left three spots to be filled and that was done on Sunday as the Falcons added TE Chase Coffman, S Mark LeGree and LB Pat Schiller to the team.
Coffman jumped at the chance to join the Falcons
TE Chase Coffman- Coffman is the biggest “name” of the three guys that got signed Sunday. He was originally a third round pick of the Bengals but got hurt in his first year and has bounced around a bit since then. He joined the Falcons late in the pre-season so wasn’t able to show much during the games. We all know how much Thomas Dimitroff likes Missouri players (Sean Weatherspoon and William Moore) so I would expect him to get a long look while he’s on the squad, especially with Gonzo’s looming retirement.
LB Pat Schiller- With the injury to Lofa Tatupu, linebacker is a need position for the Falcons so it makes sense to have at least one linebacker on the squad. Schiller ended up with 11 tackles during the pre-season.
S Mark LeGree- Legree was originally a fifth round pick of the Seahawks back in 2011 and comes to the Falcons by way of the Chicago Bears, who cut him on August 31st. Outside of William Moore, our Safety play is questionable so it makes sense to add someone who could develop here.
