Falcons Injury Report, AKA The Walking Dead

Injuries are part of the game but man does the game hate the Falcons this year. I'm not going to list all the injuries the Falcons have had this season because, quite frankly, I just don't have that much time but let's take a look at this weeks injury report.

First of all, starting left tackle Sam Baker and starting middle linebacker Akeem Dent will not play on Monday. So that means more Lamar Holmes at left tackle. Yes, the Lamar Holmes that is still "getting in shape". The loss of Akeem Dent is significant as it adds to the woes at LB. The LB corps are already thin without star Sean Weatherspoon and occasional LB Kroy Biermann. Oh yeah, did I mention that rookie Paul Worrilow did not practice on Thursday?

In other news, Asante Samuel and Steven Jackson also did not practice on Thursday. I guess that's what happens when you invest in players that have mileage on them. I wouldn't bet on seeing either guy on the field this Monday.

Julio Jones and Roddy White also were "limited" in practice. Both of those guys will suit up on Monday. If they don't then we might as well hang this one up. Jonathan Babineaux was also limited in practice.

In conclusion, the Falcons have a bunch of injuries coming into this game. The good news is that they've been dealing with some of these injuries for more than one week (Asante, SJ39, Baker, Roddy) so they already have somewhat of a plan to deal with them. The biggest "new" injury is Akeem Dent and with the addition of the Worrilow injury this is the biggest concern for the Falcons heading into a "must win" game against the Jets.
