Wildcard Weekend: Vikings at Packers

The NFL Playoffs kick off on Saturday at 4:30 as the Houston Texans host the Cincinnati Bengals. That should be an interesting game but Atlanta Falcons fans will probably turn on the TV around 8 PM when the Minnesota Vikings take on the Green Bay Packers. The Falcons know the Packers well from their playoff defeat just a couple of years ago but it's the Vikings that the Falcons will be keeping a closer eye on in this one as the Falcons can't play the Packers until the NFC Championship Game (at the earliest).

The Vikings come in at 10-6 but were just 3-5 on the road (7-1 at home) this season. When the Vikings traveled to Green Bay earlier this season they came away as 23-14 losers despite Adrian Peterson's 210 yards rushing. While they did lose by nine points, it was a game that Minnesota was leading at half-time before they lost the second half 13-0 to Green Bay.

Minnesota comes into this game riding a four game win streak including a 37-34 win over Green Bay (at home) during the last week of the season. The Vikings won on a Blair Walsh game-winning field goal as time expired. Prior to that win by the Vikes, the Packers had won five straight over their divisional rivals.

So who's going to win? It could go either way but I will go with the home team and take the Packers in a close one.
